Why E5 is in the park

The people inside are still ours.

E5 Enclave is a lineage-led 501(c)(3) institution from Liberty City, Miami. Its Justice Support work keeps the public record on cases like Karmelo Anthony’s and puts families, organizers and neighbors in the same place. The Political Education Party is that work in person: a free day in the park named for Fahim J. Minkah, an original member of the Black Panther Party in Dallas.

Hosted by Tamara & Hehe and co-hosted by E5 with Free Karmelo · Free Them All. Come for the food, the music and the kids’ 3-on-3. Stay to meet the people doing prison support, and leave knowing one thing you can do this week.

Where Karmelo’s case stands

A new trial was denied Aug 22 in a half-page order with no explanation. The 35-year sentence stands.

His appeal is live before the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Dallas. No argument date has been set.
